Renew Your AAS Membership Today: Dues Remain the Same

2022 has been a banner year for the astronomical sciences, with astonishing discoveries, compelling new questions, and stunning images and science to share with the public. So much was achieved by AAS members while operating in uncertain times, during political, social, and economic challenges. The American Astronomical Society, as always, strives to deliver value to its community and to engage its membership in an equitable, inclusive, and affordable manner. Once again, AAS membership dues will not be increased. We’re looking forward to 2023 and invite you to renew your membership.

We started to email members announcing the start of the membership renewal season, and many took action. Online renewals are arriving at a steady pace. If you already paid your dues, thank you for your continued support.

We will be mailing paper reminders in early November, so we encourage you to renew online today for fast, easy self-service that helps reduce the Society's costs and carbon footprint. Simply log in to pay your dues, confirm or update your Division participation and subscriptions, and, for most members, lock in savings for 2024 by renewing for two years at the current rate. (Note: Subscriptions to Sky & Telescope must be renewed annually.)

Renew before 31 December to maintain your benefits and receive additional savings — the AAS will extend a one-time 15% discount off your portion of the author charges on one paper published in an AAS journal (The Astronomical Journal, The Astrophysical Journal, The Astrophysical Journal Letters, The Astrophysical Journal Supplement Series, or the new-ish Planetary Science Journal). Eligible members can double their savings: if you renew by 31 December for two years, you will receive the 15% author discount on one paper each in 2023 and 2024. Plus, as a member, you can save big (typically more than the price of the membership itself) on meeting registrations in 2023: the 241st AAS meeting is scheduled for 8-12 January in Seattle; the 242nd AAS meeting will be held 4-8 June in Albuquerque.
