AAAS Section D on Astronomy Leadership Opportunity

The American Association for the Advancement of Science (AAAS) Section D on Astronomy announces an opportunity for individuals to be considered to serve in Section D leadership roles. The appointment would begin in January 2023 and would be for an initial period of one year, after which one could stand for re-election by the Section D membership. AAAS Section D leadership is an opportunity to represent and serve our field in the larger community of professional scientists. Among other things, AAAS Section D is responsible for soliciting and selecting astro-centric sessions at the AAAS annual meeting and evaluating nominations for AAAS Fellows. The AAAS is particularly interested in having representation from across the multidimensional spectrum of our discipline (academic and non-academic professionals, and astronomers from diverse backgrounds and experiences).
