NASA Astrophysics Roadmap Town Hall — Change of Plans

Joan Centrella West Virginia University

As a result of the new NASA policies to reduce spending on travel and conferences under the sequester, the planned NASA Astrophysics Roadmap Town Hall has been cancelled. Instead, the Roadmap team will invite authors of selected abstracts to present their ideas in a web-based meeting. The meeting will be open to the public; during the meeting, public comment sessions will be scheduled to allow input from the community.

We greatly appreciate the response of the community, and we are thankful to the authors of the over 120 submitted abstracts for their ideas and enthusiasm. We all would have preferred a live forum to exchange ideas and initiate discussions, but given the current constraints, we opted for the most effective solution. We have kept the dates of the original Town Hall meeting (6-7 May) for these presentations and will be sending out invitations and detailed instructions by the end of April.
