Applications Now Open for the 2021 Bahcall Public Policy Fellowship

Do you love writing, giving talks, and meeting new people? Have you volunteered on student or postdoc governance groups? Do you have an odd affection for committee meetings? Do you follow the @AAS_Policy Twitter feed and/or policy blog? Are you interested in a career in science policy? Then you are an excellent candidate to be the next John N. Bahcall Public Policy Fellow here at the AAS! The incoming Biden-Harris Administration is expected to bring new opportunities to advocate for science in Washington, especially when coupled with the pending release of the Astro2020 decadal survey report.

While we are sad to see current Bahcall Fellow Kelsie Krafton’s time with us coming to an end, we are excited to begin the search for the next Fellow! Former Bahcall Fellows have all gone on to interesting and rewarding positions in advocacy, Congress, and public policy after leaving the AAS. The normal fellowship term is one year (September to September), renewable for an additional year.
