At AAS 244, there will be a dedicated press office and a reservable interview room. We will hold press conferences Monday through Wednesday, and Thursday will feature an optional press tour to the Wisconsin IceCube Particle Astrophysics Center and Physical Sciences Lab.

Press Registration

The AAS offers complimentary in-person meeting registration to bona fide working journalists and public information officers (PIOs). To request press registration, first check our eligibility criteria; then follow the instructions below.

In-Person Press Attendance:

If you plan to be on-site for AAS 244 in Madison, Wisconsin, contact the AAS Press Office with your name and media affiliation (or “freelance” if applicable); please specify "AAS 244 IN-PERSON press registration" in the subject line. If your eligibility is confirmed, you'll receive a special promotional code that you can use to register for the meeting the same way regular attendees do, i.e., via the AAS 244 registration page.

Virtual Press Attendance:

AAS 244 will offer a limited virtual option for AAS 244 with live access to press conferences, plenary talks, select town halls, and a virtual oral session. For virtual press registration, contact the AAS Press Office with your name and media affiliation (or “freelance” if applicable); please specify "AAS 244 VIRTUAL press conference attendance" in the subject line. If your eligibility is confirmed, you'll receive a special promotional code that you can use to register for the meeting the same way regular virtual attendees do, i.e., via the AAS 244 registration page.

Use the online signup sheet to reserve this room for use for press interviews at specific dates and times.

Press Tour

A special visit to the to the Wisconsin IceCube Particle Astrophysics Center will be conducted for members of the media on Thursday, 13 June 2024. A coordinated trip to the Physical Sciences Lab where IceCube equipment is being built may be possible, depending upon interest. More details to follow at a later date; to express interest, please add your name to the expression of interest form here by 26 April.
